Manifesto
We poets
Are lovers
So in love with love
Itself.
We applaud
When you fall in love
And become lazy
Dreaming away
on a Summer's day
In the middle of Winter
Courting fairies
Surprising gnomes
Laughing with the earth and seeing how much you can take
How much joy.
We poets by erupting
In delicious belly pleasing
Change the world
Feasting on delight
Generates quantum possibilities
Unhooking time
from its current hinge
Like pea tendrils
How disruptive!
This simple act of drinking
the honey hearted wine within
Renders useless all the grave presumptions
a moment before.
How else could you hold that,
In a way that bathes it
in moonlight?
That rejoices in its existence?
That slows time like falling
in love?
See? We sneak it in
everywhere.
That’s our
secret.
